このたび、JICA地球ひろば「国際理解教育/開発教育指導者研修」公開セミナー「〜地球の未来を共に創るための授業実践〜」にて、にしゃんたが「地球の未来を共に創るための共笑な発想」をテーマに講演をさせていただきます。日時は2024年2月4日、会場はJICA地球ひろば国際会議場です。

JICA地球ひろばでは、2024年2月4日(日)に、公開セミナー【〜地球の未来を共に創るための授業実践〜を開催します。

第1部では、羽衣国際大学 現代社会学部 教授・タレントのにしゃんた氏を講師に招き、国際理解教育/開発教育の視点も踏まえて、これからの日本、そして地球をより良いものにしていくための考え方やヒントについてお話いただきます。

第2部では、2023年度JICA地球ひろば「国際理解教育/開発教育指導者研修」参加者3名による授業実践報告です。教育現場(小・中・高等学校)の最前線で生徒・児童に向き合う先生方が、国際理解や開発教育の視点を意識した授業をどのような思いでつくり、どんな授業を実践したのかについて、報告いただきます。みなさま、ぜひご参加ください。

国際理解講演会講師

羽衣国際大学 現代社会学部 教授・タレント

親⽇国スリランカ、世界遺産キャンディ市⽣まれ。⾼校⽣の時に留学のため、⽗が家を担保に借りた7万円と⽚道切符を⼿に来⽇、第⼆の⼈⽣がスタート。

 来⽇ 1 年で、⽇本語能⼒試験 1 級試験に合格し、留学⽣第⼀号となる新聞奨学⽣をしながら⽂武両道の⼤学⽣⽣活を送る。在学中は全⽇本空⼿道連盟公認四段、公認指導員や審判員資格を取得。また多数の弁論⼤会で優勝し“スピコン荒らし”とあだ名がつく。

 ⽴命館⼤学経営学部を学部総代で卒業。名城⼤学⼤学院に進み商学修⼠号、⿓⾕⼤学⼤学院で経済学修⼠号と経済学(⺠際学)博⼠号を取得。⽇本国籍取得。出家得度。

 タレント活動としては、近未来の⽇本を描いた映画『地球のヘソ』で主演。ワッハ上⽅で⾼座デビューし、「初代社会⼈落語⽇本⼀決定戦」準優勝で異⾊の落語家として注⽬され、フジテレビ「ペケポン」などで⼈気となる。

 ⼤学教授、タレント、落語家、随筆家、講演家、空⼿家、⼦育て⽗、スリランカ⼈など多くの顔をもち合わせ、その意味でミスターダイバーシティなどと⾔われることも。「ダイバーシティ能力検定」 ファウンダー。

 株式会社グローバルコンテンツの代表取締役、⼭⼝県⽴⼤学国際⽂化学部准教授などを経て、現在は主に、国際⼤学現代社会学部教授として務める傍ら、テレビ・ラジオなどで活躍。情報・報道番組のコメンテーターからバラエティ番組まで幅広く、 Newsweek やYahoo!ニュースなどの書き⼿でもある。

 さらに全国各地で「違いを楽しみ、⼒に変える」などをテーマに「ダイバーシティ・スピーカー(多様性の語り部)」として.「ダイバーシティ&インクルージョン」「国際理解・国際交流・多文化共生」「人権・平和」「SDGs」「文化教養」などの分野における教育・啓発などの講演活動を行っている。

 ボランティアで献血推進活動に積極的に取り組んでいる。

国際理解教育講演会講師

We are pleased to announce that Nishantha will be delivering a lecture on the theme of “Shared Laughter Perspectives for Co-Creating the Future of the Earth” at the JICA Global Plaza’s public seminar on “International Understanding Education/Development Education Leader Training.” The event is titled “Classroom Practices for Creating the Future of the Earth Together.” The date is February 4, 2024, and the venue is the JICA Earth Plaza International Conference Hall.

On February 4, 2024 (Sunday), JICA Earth Plaza will host a public seminar titled “Classroom Practices for Creating the Future of the Earth Together.”

In the first part, we will have Dr. Nishantha, a professor and talent from Hagoromo International University’s Faculty of Contemporary Social Studies, as the speaker. He will discuss perspectives on international understanding education/development education, sharing thoughts and hints on how to make Japan and the Earth a better place in the future.

The second part will feature reports on classroom practices by three participants from the 2023 JICA Earth Plaza “International Understanding Education/Development Education Leader Training.” Teachers who engage with students at the forefront of educational institutions (elementary, middle, and high schools) will share their experiences of creating lessons with a focus on international understanding and development education. Please join us for these presentations.

<About Nishantha> Professor and Entertainer at Hagoromo International University, Faculty of Contemporary Social Studies

Born in Kandy, Sri Lanka, a UNESCO World Heritage City. Moved to Japan during high school for studies with ¥70,000 borrowed against his father’s home and a one-way ticket, marking the beginning of his second life.

Within a year in Japan, passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 1, becoming the first scholarship recipient among exchange students while leading a balanced academic and martial arts university life. Achieved a certified fourth dan rank from the All Japan Karate Federation during studies and obtained qualifications as an instructor and referee. Won numerous debate competitions, earning the nickname “Spicon Arashi.”

Graduated from Ritsumeikan University’s Faculty of Business Administration as the top student representative. Pursued a Master’s degree in Business Management at Meijo University Graduate School, followed by a Master’s degree in Economics (International Studies) at Nanzan University Graduate School. Acquired Japanese nationality and underwent Buddhist monk ordination.

In the realm of entertainment, starred in the film “Navel of the Earth,” depicting the near future of Japan. Made a debut on the Wahaha Jyo stand-up comedy stage, gaining attention as a unique rakugo storyteller after finishing as a runner-up in the “First Social Person Rakugo Japan Championship.” Became popular on Fuji TV’s “Pekipon” and other programs.

With multiple roles such as university professor, entertainer, rakugo storyteller, essayist, lecturer, karateka, father, and Sri Lankan, he is often referred to as “Mr. Diversity.” Founder of the “Diversity Competence Certification.” Currently serving as the representative director of Global Contents Co., Ltd., associate professor at the Yamagata University Faculty of International Cultural Studies, and primarily as a professor in the Faculty of Contemporary Social Studies at Hagoromo International University. Active on television and radio, contributing to a wide range of programs from informational and news commentary to variety shows. Also known as a writer for Newsweek and Yahoo! News.

Engages in nationwide lecture activities under the theme of “Enjoying Differences, Transforming into Power” as a “Diversity Speaker,” covering areas such as “Diversity & Inclusion,” “International Understanding, Exchange, and Multicultural Coexistence,” “Human Rights and Peace,” “SDGs,” and “Cultural Literacy.”

Actively involved in voluntary blood donation promotion activities.
